Thank you for choosing Massage Concepts to serve your body wellness needs. We are dedicated to our clients and committed to providing a superior massage experience at a reasonable price. Our goal is to help you feel better through excellent bodywork.

We hope that you will make massage a regular part of your wellness practices. If you frequently get massages, we encourage you to consider our discounted Prepaid Multi-session Package deals. Pre-paid sessions are sharable among family and friends, and never expire. Please consult with our front desk about our package deals.

Making a reservation:

Booking online is the easiest way to secure an appointment. If you have a preferred therapist, please indicate the name of the therapist in the comments, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Call or Text us at 858-847-2777 or 858-663-9863.  If you call during the weekend, we might not be able to get to the phone as quickly. Please text us instead.  We typically respond within 30min.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy:

When you make a reservation with us, we hold that time slot specifically for you. A therapist and a room are reserved for you. In exchange, we require that you give us at least 4-hour notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.  This advanced notice gives us time to offer your spot to other customers. This helps us minimize the financial impact to our therapists and the spa.  If you reschedule or cancel within the 4-hour window, we most likely won’t be able to fill your spot with another client, and we charge you for the session so that we can pay the therapist who was assigned to your session as well as our overhead.

Checking-in To Your Appointment:

We are located in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center, next to Sammy’s Pizzeria. We have two almost adjacent locations in the center. Please check in at the main office (Ste J25) and we will tell you where to go.

Please show up on time:

We deliver full hour massages. Your massage time starts when your therapist walks into the treatment room. We have a 10-minute grace period so if you arrive more than 10-minute late without advanced notice, we might have to shorten your session to avoid delaying the next customer.

Pregnant Clients:

If you are pregnant, please make sure you communicate it to us before your massage. We don’t recommend or offer massage to clients during their first trimester.

A prenatal massage is provided with a special pillow to ensure safety of the client. The massage is performed while the client is side laying.

Customize Your Massage:

We customize our services based on client requests. When you check in, tell our reception how you want your services customized, for example, whether specific parts of your body need special attention, or certain sensitive areas need to be avoided.  We also welcome you to tell us how much time you would like to spend on specific parts of your body, and we make sure we deliver.

Do I remove my clothes during my massage?

For foot-massage treatments in the reclining chair, you remain fully clothed except, of course, for your socks and shoes. We recommend loose clothing for most comfort.

For full-body massages in our private rooms, most of our clients undress fully and lay face down to start, covering with the sheet/blanket that we provide. However, some of our clients prefer to disrobe to their underwear. Whether you are fully or partially unclothed, our therapists discretely drape your body at all times in accordance with professional practices. If at any time you feel uncomfortable or cold, please ask your therapist for more cover.

How much should I tip?

Tipping is a personal decision and indicates your satisfaction with the therapists’ service. We try to keep our rates reasonable, and our therapists are grateful for your consideration of their service. As a general guidance, many of our clients tip 20% or more for a one-hour massage. Some clients may tip more at their discretion when they request a specific therapist, or for longer treatments, as your therapist might not be able to serve as many clients in order to reserve the time spot for you. Please keep in mind your therapist is providing a private service for you and they can only serve 4-5 clients per day.

Can I leave a tip on my credit card?

Yes. While most of our clients tip in cash at the end of their session, we are happy to include tips on your credit or debit card. There will be a $1 Credit Card Processing Fee for the gratuities under $20 on the credit card. Your therapist receives your full tip except the $1 fee, and they are always grateful for your consideration.

Do you offer family massage therapy? Do you have age limits for minors?

We welcome families and well-mannered children. Many of our clients expose their children or teens to the therapeutic benefits of massage, including sports massage for young athletes.  Our spa is also a safe and popular place for families to spend relaxing bonding time together.

We do not have age restrictions, but we do ask that parents and children be mindful of other patrons to preserve tranquility and restfulness of our environment. A Minor Release Form for 17 years old or under is required to be signed by the guardian at check in. You may download the form on our website,  email or text it to us, or bring it with you to the spa.

Is Massage Concepts a legitimate massage service?

Yes. All of our therapists are trained and CMTC (California Massage Therapy Council) licensed to practice in the State of California. Each therapist upholds a high standard of conduct and expects the same from our clients. We strictly forbid any illicit service, which is grounds for termination of the session and employee’s relationship with our business. Massage Concepts is committed to the highest standards of professionalism and cleanliness suitable for adults, couples, and the whole family.
